North Sails opens a new loft in Lorient

In a recent news, the leading sailmaking company North Sails announced they will be opening a new sail loft in the heart of the offshore sailing scene in France, the city of Lorient. In the heart of the “Bretagne Sailing Valley”, Lorient is the hub for many of the Offshore Racing teams (from the trimarans Ultims, Imoca 60, Class 40 to many of the Mini 6.50 sailors). Lorient was also the home port of the infamous Pen Duick, skippered by Eric Tabarly.

The company have been look for years now to move into a location in Lorient but wanted to make it right. The new sail loft, located in La Base, will features a 500 m² service floor, an office space and a 50 m² meeting room for experts, designers and engineers to gather. The loft in Vannes will remain the production site and continue to provide support to regional customers.

 This is a logical strategic decision to better service the teams and strengthen the relationships with them! No doubts that this will have positive consequences for company.
